A new video game has come out. It is the new Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure where toys come to life. For kids (or grown ups) who haven’t heard who Spyro is, he is a rare purple and orange dragon. The plot of the game is you use the Skylanders toys to defeat Kaos (no I did not spell that wrong it’s a name of the bad guy) and the darkness that is spreading through Skylands. You have to find all eight eternal sources: Air, Water, Ground, Life, Tech, Undead, Fire, and Magic.

So far, I have seven Skylanders. Three came with the starter pack, I bought two with money I saved for a long time in my bank and my friend Sam bought two. In total, we have Sonic Boom, Stump Smash, Chop Chop, Prisim Break, Gill Grunt, Trigger Happy, and finally Spyro.

By the way, Activision sent me a copy of the Skylanders Wii starter pack in exchange for a review. I was told to write my honest opinion and everything written here is based on my personal opinion.

It was soooooo cool. My favorite part was when Bathilda Bagshot turned into Nagini and attacked. At the end Dobby died. That was sad. I loved it when puking pastlels attacked the ministry of magic. It was so weird when Ron destroyed the locket. [And mom covered his eyes.]

AND THIS WORD FROM MOM: Cam and I spent the last year reading all of the Harry Potter books. It’s been a fun ride. We’re actually almost done with Book 7 – but we’ve gotten deep enough into the book for the first part of the movie. I’m so lucky to have enjoyed this Harry Potter experience with Cam.

Cam got a new bed!! it’s a bunk bed with shelving and all kinds of cool stuff. Cam’s grandparents got it for him after at least a year of asking his Poppy to build him one. instead they bought this amazing steel bed. it will live with him for a really long time. I’m clearly excited for him and I know he’s thrilled. He and a friend a good portion of the afternoon playing in it. So fun!

It isn’t every day when Tony Hawk comes to your town and shows off his moves for the heck of it. But that’s pretty much what happened this weekend. Tony Hawk has spent the last couple of weeks traveling and sending hints over Twitter. So I noticed he was coming from this tweet… An unexpected visit to our town:

Cameron grabbed his Tony Hawk skateboard and we went to see the big demo. It was so cool to watch the amazing skateboarding moves. What was even more exciting was watching his reaction after getting that skateboard of his signed by the skateboarding star himself. I hope it was something that might get him hopping on his board more often. It was a really fun experience… Hopefully it will be one he won’t forget.

This is my attempt to build something very different for my two blogs: Mom Thoughts and Born Just Right… I hope to house both in one place. Mom Thoughts will move to a new name — I’m not sure what yet. Born Just Right will have its own space and possibly its own URL. I’m working on that.
